======================= IPP540 - Condor Standard (SE540) Programmer ======================== DISCLAIMER: The IPP540 program was NOT written by me, only the installer is. I cannot be held responsible for any problems arising by using this program, you use it entirely at your own risk. The IPP540 program is the intelectual property of Ascom Teletron Salzburg and they held the copyright to this program. The IPP540 program may only be used by Licenced (HAM) radio amateurs, other use will be a violation of the law and may lead to criminal prosecution. Thanks for installing IPP540, the program to make custom EPROM's for the SE540 radio tranceiver (also known as the "Condor Standard"). For help on usage please press the F1 button while the program is running (German). If you don't have any of the supported EPROM programmers you can use my on-line tool to convert a data-file to a valid EPROM hex (binary) or Intel-format file. You can find this tool on my personal web-server at: http://62.251.99.186/cgi540/ ============================================================================================ How to make a valid data-file: [ESC] = back out to previous, [ENTER] = Confirm, [SPACE] = Next possible option or clear field, [TAB] = Previous possible option - Start the IPP540.exe program - At the welcome screen press any key to start - Select the band you wish to use (make sure this band matches your tranceiver) - Select the "Bewerken van de data"-option - Make the appropriate selection for the option-board (if installed) in the "Administratieve data"-section - In the "Apparaatgebonden opties" you can define some options like ZVEI codes and the used channel-spacing Make sure you change the default "LS-Öffnungszeit" (receive limit) and "Sendezeitbegr." (transmit limit) to 255 if you wish to have these unlimited Also change the "Geber A" and "Geber B" codes, these are the ZVEI codes generated when the "A" or "B" keys on the tranceiver are pressed It's also possible to use just a single tone, for instance 1750Hz, by entering a single key (press F5 to view the tone-list or F4 to edit the editable tones) A single "H" in these fields will give a 1750Hz (default) repeater tone. It might also be a good idea to blank-out the "Kennungsgeber" field, or else the code in this field will be repeated every 30s (default). - When you're satisfied, back out of this menu and enter the "Kanaalinvoer"-area - In this area you can set upto 20 different channels with their frequencies and if you have a CTCSS-option board you can also configure this here as well - If you're using this tranceiver "out-of-band", you first have to press the F9 key and accept the warning, otherwise the entered frequencies will not be accepted (if they are "out-of-band") - After entering all your frequencies, back out of this area to the "Edit Menu" and back out of this menu as well (to the "Hoofdmenu") - Now select the "File Handling"-option and use the first option in this menu called "Data in file opslaan" (Save data to file) - In the presented dialog, you can enter a DOS filename (8 + 3 characters) to which your file will be saved to; if the filename already exists you will be ask to overwrite or to cancel (default). If you have one of the two supported EPROM programmers, you can directly use the "EPROM functies"-item in the "Hoofdmenu", otherwise it's possible to use my on-line tool at: http://62.251.99.186/cgi540/ where to you can upload your file. My tool will check if the upload succeeded (some browsers, like IE5 have a bug which will sometimes corrupt the data!) and will then send the resulting ".bin" (binary) or ".int" (Intel) file to the e-mail address specified, along with a "Print-out" like IPP540 does. If you experience problems uploading you can also send me an e-mail with your data-file as attachment and I'll convert it for you manually. If you have questions or comments, don't hessitate to write me an e-mail. Greetz and 73, Peter Luijer, PE1PSA URL : http://62.251.99.186 e-mail: pe1psa@amsat.org
